I'm planning to upgrade my Mac Pro's current graphics and looking for some advice on available cards . I'm not worrying about Nvidia or AMD and price tag. Suggest me the best available.

Details -
I have the mid 2012 model.
Model number - A1289
Model ID- Mac pro 5.1
EMC Number - 2629

Thanks for giving me your time.

Hey there,
First of all what types of applications Do you use?

For professional applications I'll suggest Nvidia quadro K5000 mac edition card. It's only for workstation purpose.
Or if you're just upgrading your MP's graphics performance then choose the Nvidia gtx 680 Mac edition. I installed it on a Mac 2mnths ago. It's a great card super quiet when in idle. Adobe After Effects renders sped up and saw improvements over across All Adobe CC programs and gaming performance is also not bad. Faster desktop, apps were snappier, faster Mac native games, faster in boot camp, faster in Parallels. Everything I did was faster and more enjoyable. Worked great on multiple monitors, including a 42" 1080p TV.
But It has no driver for 10.7 -...

But It has no driver for 10.7 - Lion (it works but crashes totally and randomly ) it only works stable on 10.8 - Mount Lion and later versions. So if you're using lion only then I'll suggest the AMD 7950 mac

Hope that helps !!
