Question Graphics usage drop

Hey guys. A friend of mine graphics card keeps dropping the usage percentage. Its a 1050ti. I’ve monitored it with MSI Afterburner and it drops to 3-8% usage. I’ve tried driver updates and all but its still the same. Also thought it could be his power supply because its only 300w.
Specs:
I3-8100
8x2GB 2666mhz
Asus Cerberus 1050ti
300w psu

When does it drop? While gaming perhaps? If gaming, what is going on in the game when this happens (for example, is this in the middle of an action screen, loadding screen, etc)? What is the CPU percentage at when it drops?

Its while gaming. CPU percentage stays the same at aroudn 75-80%.

Check hard drive activity during slowness. Also check temps of CPU cores and GPU.

I’ve tried closing chrome in Task Manager and it resolved for a while. Cpu temp is 45c during. GPU is 60c.

Yeah, Chrome can use lots of RAM when you have several tabs open.

How do fix these stutters?

Close all applications. Run the game. If the stuttering comes back, tell us what game and what is going on in the game when the stuttering occurs.

I’ve tried CSGO, DOTA 2 and Apex. It just happens randomly. Well, i guess in fights the drops are even worse. In apex it goes from 98% usage to 10%. In CSGO from 60-70% to 15%. I tried downloading the new driver and its still the same.

I mean the drops have been happening for quite some time. I’ve tried adding 8GB of ram. I’ve tried reinstalling. Maybe i’ll try to factory reset it. Looking to upgrade to a 1660 is it good?

Look at your CPU usage when this occurs. With CS:GO being a pretty CPU- intensive game, that may be what's holding you back.
