Gravitar: Strange sounds from machine....plz help.

This is really weird.

A few days ago, by gravitar was wroking flawlessly.

I recently put in a space duel boardset to make sure it was waoring,
then i hooked up my gravotar again...but did not turn it on.

today, when I turned it on, I heard a "click click click click".
coming from the coin mech. The coin magnet was going in and out casung
it to click.

I hooked up the space dual boardset again...works fine. Hooked up the
gravotar boardset......clickclick.click.


Umm....where do i start??? Board looks clean, all roms are fine. I did
a board RESET...still nothing.


PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi, things to try in order;

1) Verify all voltages on the Gravitar test points are correct with a
multimeter.

2) Clean the edge connector on the Gravitar boardset. Use a pencil
eraser to rub the edges and get rid of 20 years of built up gunk.

3) Remove all socketed chips, clean the legs carefully with a pencil
eraser and reseat them all again.

4) Run a link wire for GND and +5v from the AR2 test points to the
respective test points on the Gravitar board.

5) If it's still not working try removing the POKEY IC and see if you
get any video. This IC going bad can cause the symptoms you are
seeing. The game will run without it but will not have any sound.
