Great FPS on a game yesterday, Terrible FPS on it today

16GB RAM @1600mhz
GTX 970M Graphics
i7-4710hq Processor

I've been playing the ARMA 2 Mod DayZ for weeks with fps that never went below 40 FPS anywhere. Today I started it up as usual and when I enter any single server, my FPS is now at a constant 9-15 FPS. I tried to change many different settings but to no avail. I re-installed ARMA 2+Operation Arrowhead as well as the DayZ mod. This resulted in no change whatsoever and I can't really begin to understand why and how this just happened. If anyone can give me any advice, if any at all, thank you.

Sidenote: I've restarted laptop multiple times and also saw the temperature is still normal. Loading into the game isn't a problem either. The FPS problems only arise once I'm in the loading menu and ingame. If you need anymore information, please let me know.

try different game and see if it runs normal. DayZ is notorious for problems.

Could just be the nature of DayZ, it's still very much a work in progress so maybe a recent patch is causing the problem.
The other thing that instantly springs to mind is a malware/virus infection, try running sweeps for both along with a clean up using Ccleaner.

Hello my friend, nice laptop btw.

Have you checked to see if you haven't accidentally switched to "power saving" plan?. With laptops, sometimes when the power cable comes out it changes power modes and my have defaulted to power saver. Im assuming you are gaming plugged in? if not you should.
