So let me start this off by saying, my computer runs all other games on max perfectly fine without any issues, but ever since a few days ago, after I finished a match of Rainbow Six Siege on the map Fevela, I started another game, and instead of being at 120 - 150 fps, I sit at 50 - 70. I didn't change any settings at all. None in game, and none in nvidia control panel.
I have checked all settings in nvidia control panel, and they seem fine to me, and vsync is off. I have also tried turning it on, both in game and in nvidia control panel.
I have also tried all of the basic shit like reinstalling my game, my temps, and what not. There are also no launch option set for Rainbow.
The weird thing is, this all happened from one game to the next, I didn't even restart my game, it has been like this for like 3 days now.
My specs are listed below:
CPU: i5 4690k 3.5ghz
GPU: gtx 1080
Ram: 16 GB ddr3 @ 3200mhz
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A
Hard Drive: 580 GB SSD
PSU: 750 WATT Corsair
OS: Windows 10
Monitor: BENQ XL2411 144hrz
I also have a side question, I have two friends that have the same cpu that I have, but they have a 1050, and a 1060 mini instead of a 1080, and they both have different motherboards. Both of them get more fps then me in every game we play, by a significant amount, and it has always been like this. Even after doing stuff like system restoring, they will have 20 more fps then me in games like Rainbow when it worked fine for me. So why are they getting more fps then me in these games when I have a superior build? Can my motherboard be the problem, as it is pretty old?
