no dvd in drive needed, fantastic sound with eax on my sb live player 1024
now - i dunno how they did it but now i even got the greatest 3d-sound via
my se-version-logitech-headset. thx to epic and atari.
but, still the bugs with joystick/mouse not fixed. u still have to fix the
deadzone in the user.ini for joysticks. for noobs this might still be a
prob. so, why not to put these joystick options into the game menus? u got
plenty of mouse options in the game menus, why not for the joystick users? i
know there are many of them using this "unusual" combo.

Did the patch mess up your User.ini file? I too am a mouse\stick user. If it
did screw the file up I guess I should save a copy of the file so I won't
have to go through all the tweaking again!

Well, joystick users have always been second class citizens, even when
we're not horrible at the game, but there's an awful lot more to
joystick support than allowing deadzone and gain settings. Remember,
each modem of joystick has it's own requirements for gain, and as they
age they need adjustments to deadzone.

The patch doesn't touch the .ini file.

Well I guess you were lucky. There are a lot of people whining about
GPFs after the patch.

And as far as I could see on Atari Support
(
http://www.atarisupport.com/newfaq/unrealtournament2004.php?browser=1&pageDisplay=DOWNLOADS
)
this is NOT an official patch.
So, I'll just wait till the dust settles.

It apparently is an official patch, but the method of announcing it
is.... strange.

Yep. As if it were a patch for underground users of UT. It just makes me
feel like the patch were not good enough for the end user.
