So uhh, my subscription to WoW expired last night. I may be back, but I
decided I needed to take a break as my finals are coming up and as long
as I have the opportunity to choose between studying or playing WoW,
studying is always gonna lose.

I had a great time in my last few hours of gameplay. There was a very
nice scripted RP event put on by some people on my server. We had
around twenty-five people total and the event included the Gurubashi
arena chest, pirate boats off of Stranglethorn, and the quest gorillas
north of Booty Bay. There was even a quest PC involved - a troll named
Jambon who was placed ahead of time as a corpse in the hold of one of
the ships, and part of the event was resurrecting him and getting him to
give us information about healing Anu's sickness (the purpose of the
event). I can't put things into words as good as the people who ran it,
though, so here is the writeup that was posted to our server forum. I'm
very glad we have such excellent people on our server - they make it so
much fun!

One more thing you may need to know - Creator is sort of the "king" of
RP on our server. He's the epitome of evil, runs a true RP guild, and
has been involved in a story arc spanning months now where's been trying
to summon the ultimate demon or something.

--------------------------------------
"gatherround you young pups, ole anu is going to tell you how he was
saved from Creator's Deadly plauge"

Anu sits back in his comfortable chair and begins the time honoured
story once again. The young pups gathered around him look up in awe at
this hairy black face and he winks with a clear eye at them and smiles.

"you see.. it was a long time ago, when the foul humans and elves
plagued our lands"

a young pup interrupts "Hum.. an??"

"yes darling.. they exist no more..." anu smiles wickedly.

"i had been infected by the blood of the Rat king neath the sewers on
alcaz island with a terrible plauge.. It sapped my strength and my mind
for many days. Until such a time that Creator and his defilers...."

"Creator is the king right?" interrupted another young pup... Anu nods

"yes, the.. king" "anyways, i was then taken to the R.A.S. and examined
there in the deep holds by the leader of the Da Dacktors. They
pronounced that I had one week to live."

the pups ooh in awe

"The next few days were spent in fraught desperation looking for a
cure.. for this plague.. finally creator came to me and mentioned that a
Troll in the Stranglethorn Vale had information about a certain Jemban,
who held the possible cure or antidote"

"immediately the NE KAH NE TAH and her allies formed a war party and
vanquished hundreds of evil trolls in a grand battle until my brother
Nablise, found on the body of one foul cave dwelling beast, a letter
that suggested that the Gurubashi Arean and Jon MIthril's treasure held
additional information on the whereabouts of Jemban. It seemed that
Jemban was a THrall to the mighty captain."

"What happened next?" squelched a little pup

"WEll, we were pressed for time! QUickly those of us that could mounted
and moved to the Arena at all speed. WE arrived there just in time for
the Captain to place his chest down in the sands. what followed next was
a wicked, yet short battle as the few alliance there were surprised..
They did not fight valiantly but sniped at us from the ramparts... yet
we protected nablise and he managed to open the chest. and it revealed
untold riches and another note."

"what did the note say??" came a hushed female voice

"the note said that ole jemban was locked away on one of the pirate
ships to the south! So we gathered our forces together and under the
leadership of Noktwar made our way south alongside the road. But we met
fierce allaince resistance... The came at us from the north and drove
into our rear.. and as our forces turned to meet them, our forward
forces wandered into some well laid traps on the road, freezing them
uselessly in place.. the battle raged and for a moment we were in dire
straigths.. but the backstabbing alliance force had never before met the
likes of the Ne Kah Ne Tah and others and slowly they were driven back
with blades and unmatched skill"

the young troop of pups remains silent

"many fell, but we slew many more then those that fell! and the alliance
force was shattered and sent to the winds... although they continued to
harrass us as we traveled to the shore.. From the shore we immediately
destoryed the pirate ships moored there and began the search for
jemban... he was found, but in near death... it was only with careful
healing that he was brought around."

"Jemban is the Troll we honour today is it not?" asked on of the pup's
teachers

"yes it is.. yes it is... He told me of a cure.. it was the blood of a
horrific Giant Gorilla. He pointed us to the island where I alone was
destined to fight it.. when we reached the island the beast
unexpectantly attacked and began murdering those young pups that
ventured with us. Bravely, and with axe in hand, i step forward over
their corpses and slew the beast where it stood. spilling its life onto
the jungle grass. There, i bathed in its blood as i was instructed and
immediately began to feel well. Clan Visioner Coriollis saw fit to take
several samples of the antidote for his own reasons... and we gathered
and marched back to Booty Bay."

"and then, grandfather?"

"the return trip was peaceful, and despite it being several hours since
our attack on the alliance and the arena, the alliane force asseembled
against us was pitiful and we mocked and jeered them as we marched into
the goblin's den and to fill the taverns with our victory song"

the pups begin clapping politely and the teacher thanks the aged Tauren
for gracing her classroom with his tales.

((special thanks to all that came out tonight, at a mx we had some 25
hordlins with us from all guilds.. namely:

Fel Hand
Keepers of the Lich
Blood of the FOLD
Clan Stone talon
Defilers
Ne Kah Ne Tah

I have been healed and we have collected some samples of the purposed
antidote.

Special thanks to Nablise, Jemban, Coriollis, and NOktwar and all the
others who made this an enjoyable experience.

I must also thank those helpless alliance who stared at us in obvious
confusion and disarray as we cut them down like helpless stands of
wheat.. I apologize to the Priestess i aggroed on... well fought that
battle was...

Too bad very few alliance read the boards, or we could have expected a
closer fight...

I envy you, this is the exact reason why I initially wanted to go on an
RP server!

Is there any way (beside writing a mail) to get a player-written
scroll?

We'll try to enjoy our first RP event on our PVP server next monday
evening. A crossfaction event. Drunken Fistfight in the cage in
Gadgetzan. Contestants of all kinds of classes and levels will all be
naked, drunk, and punching each other merrily to death (yeah, we're
only starting).

For two reasons, the first one being the thrill of being in a Contested
territory, I really can't imagine now how this game is outside of a PVP
server.

The second one is, well, more related to culture and languages. It
takes tremendous efforts for me to write RP in english, I tried for
some time, but I probably chosed the wrong race for it (Troll), and
people wouldn't accept my darspearish. Of course, I could go and play
on a french server, but that would be mutually exclusive with playing
with the people in this group.

I don't know either. It would require a heck of a lot of player guards
to ensure the ball is running the right way. It's still a great idea,
I'll try to pop a few words about that on the realms forum. (heck, even
Tim's daughter refused to heal my warrior yesterday because I had
attacked Kresh the "cute turtle with the beard" for its shield in the
wailing caverns... 😛)

Well, ya really should've ... there's great RP here if you look for it.
Why didn't you, may I ask? The largest guild Alliance-side, Heaven and
Earth, is actually not a role-playing guild ... they're more of a end-game
content, uber raiding kind of guild. Which they catch a lot of (deserved)
flak for.

I don't think so. So I guess that must've been the way they got the
written scrolls.

Try organizing a Ball. Some of the Alliance did that on my server and it
was very successful. It gives everyone a chance to show off their RP
outfits (you see a lot of guys wearing tuxedos - females are more varied).
I even attended an Alliance Ball in Stormwind Keep! I was the only Horde
there and I had to constantly fight off guards just to stay, but I was the
hit of the party. All of the night elf men there were jealous, hehehe.
Tauren are very cute in tuxedos, by the way.

I don't know how much of a success this would be on your server though. My
server is an RP server, so you have lots of people inclined to going to
these kinds of events.
