I was playing GTA V and I tried to replay the mission "friends United". as soon as it started loading, the screen turned green and computer shut down. it seemed software related since it happened right when I clicked that mission and everything was going fine.

my specs:
i5 6500
PNY GTX 1060 6GB
Avexir core series 8gb ram 2133
Crucial mx300 175 gb
1tb wd blue hdd

i did that and my computer turned on. does that mean that my graphics card is just broken? i uninstalled the drivers and set the gpu back to being the default device in bios, and the black screen is still there.

i have this psu - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151074&cm_re=seasonic_430-_-17-151-074-_-Product

something that concerns me is that it happened while i was using it. i wasn't installing something new, and nothing came unplugged (i reseated ram and most other things anyways).

after some more searching i ended up using ddu to completely uninstall my drivers, and then i rebooted the computer with everything plugged into the 1060, with it selected as the primary video device in bios. nothing came up still. i was getting ready to buy a 1070 anyways, but now i can't sell the 1060 if it is actually broken.

You could RMA it and sell the replacement - it came out only a year ago.

i filed an rma request and PNY emailed me a mailing label. i've decided to get the card fixed or replaced and then sell that one like you suggested.
