I am desperate for help, this is my PC for my small business (heavy photo editing).

Got my e4300 up to a stable (and modest) 2.6ghz O'c (using wusy and all other internet guides)

Ran prime for 24 hours...lock solid w/ temps maxed at 50C under the full stress test. Idle temps are 30C.

For 3 weeks it was running fine. Then one day I boot my computer... and my mobo starts in fail safe settings (no error or failed post, just starts at defaults - very weird).

So I go in and enable my OC again... and the computer fails to post.

I've tried everything to get this to work, but now I can't even get a small 2.25 ghz OC to post.

I downloaded all the latest drivers and bios. Here are my specs:

CPU: E4300
CPU HEAT SINK: INTEL STOCK
MOBO: GIGABYTE 965P-DS3 REVISION 3.3
BIOS: F12
RAM: GSKILL 2X 1GB PC2-6400 (800MHZ)

PSU: Siverstone 750W
Operating system: Vista 64 bit

Oh boy, you're going to get lots of different opinions on this one dude.

How about the beep codes... are you getting any (PC speaker, if it doesn't complete a POST, they usually give a series of long and short beeps, see this link for a list of them).

Have you tried the memory game yet (i.e. remove one, try to POST, replace it with the other, repeat, try different slots, etc.)? That to me is an obvious starting point. It's clear that something doesn't like the settings, and memory can be a suspect.

ok, try this for me, open your bios, at the main page press ctrl+f1, set your memory at 2.5 multi, (trust me on this), put your pci-e to 101, set your ram to auto, put your ram volts to 2.2 (+0.4, they'll easily handle it) and put your processor volts at 1.4 (should be good for intel stock still) then try 300FSB
