Grey screen(among other colors)

One of my three monitors will go grey most of the time it is my main monitor. While the screen is grey the game and programs and still going but the screen remains grey and the only way for me to get it back is to restart the computer. I have reloaded my computer recently and had this problem before as well along with having uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.

-Gtx 980
-Asus rampage 4 black edition
-1050 corsair psu
-16gb ram
-240gb ssd

Have you tried to switch monitors / cables around, to see if it's the cables or the monitor are faulty?
Try making one of the other monitors as your main monitor, and plug the cables around in different monitors to see if the problem still persists.
