Grey screen instead of BIOS

Hey Everyone ,

I've been having alot of pc problems lately, first my dual channel on my P4P800E stopped working, then my power supply went pop.

I have purchased a replacement motherboard ( Asrock P4i65G 865G Chipset ) and a Thermaltake 450W Modular PSU. Upon installing this new hardware it seemed my graphics card ( that had been working perfectly in friends pc while i ordered new psu+mobo ) wasnt sending a signal to my monitor. I took it out, and setup bios to use AGP before PCI and set onboard graphics to Automatic. The graphics card then sent a signal, however it is just a GREY background with some flashing and non flashing black and green blocks or lines. It does this running through VGA and DVI outputs.

I've not seen this problem before, is my graphics card FUBAR for no reason?

Try running the windows drivers? Also, yes, your card could have burnt as well as your mobo because of your psu. Id reconnect everything, check all connections, then go from there

Thanks for the reply, the problem was that my VDDQ was set to low and not high, so the card didnt have enough power to function properly.

Now i have a new problem, I can't get XP to load OR load windows setup. I get the PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA message, and sometimes it wont load the setup after the F6 raid driver message.

Hope you havnt downloaded sp3, theres been problems with amd chips

hehe, i'm on a P4 3.2 Ghz >_< havent even applied SP2 yet either 😀 gotta try get system stable with dual channel up...

Yep SP3 was released to Windows Update this last Tuesday.

You do have your boot order set to your CD drive as first boot device and your hard drive as second for XP installation?

Are you trying to use AHCI? If you are you will need a driver for it just like you would for a RAID setup.

XP installed now and updated to SP2, Omega drivers giving me problems though. ^^ Ram is running in dual channel at correct timings!
