So here's a weird issue....
I've been scouring the net trying to see if anyone had a similar problem, but no positive result. Some time earlier this week while playing For Honor, I noticed that my computer has been making a loud, terrifying grinding sound while playing For Honor and ONLY For Honor.
No other game experiences the same noise, and even in For Honor, the noise ONLY comes up specifically when landing hits or parrying an attack. All else is normal.
The grinding noise would be most comparable to that of a thick wire making contact with a fan. I don't know what a grinding HDD sounds like, so I can't make a comparison to that, but it does worry me that it may be either my fan or HDD as the noise originates from the front end of my case where 3 x 140mm fans and the hard drive bay resides.
Here's a link to my case for reference: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108422&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Cases+%28Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form%29-_-N82E16811108422&gclid=CMHT_PKjkdMCFYuNswodtP4NAg&gclsrc=aw.ds
I have a 1 x SDD and 1 x HDD installed. For Honor was installed on the HDD when this noise was first detected. I reinstalled the game on the SSD to see what would happen, but that didn't resolve anything.
Of course, I also did open the case to ensure no wires or anything were making contact with any fans. Dust is to a minimum as well.
So my question here is, does anyone have any insight as to what the heck might be going on? Do you think it may be originating from a fan or, even worse, coming from the HDD? What could possibly explain this odd behavior? And why is it only limited to the For Honor game?
