Want to hook up case legacy audio connectors, ie: microphone and headphones. No problems except audio card has only 1 ground pin (#2), but there are two ground connectors from case. OK, I could do a nasty manual splice (my 60+ y.o. eyes and fingers make this a last resort) or invest in a bag of 25, 50 or 100 connectors and a crimping tool, but that seems like overkill to me. So I have searched for a 2 male-to-1-female adaptor (no joy - anyone know of one?) or had the thought that maybe I could connect the second ground connector to the ground pin on the unused mobo onboard audio pin set (or indeed, any other free mobo ground pin, such as a spare usb 2.0 ground pin - but I don't have one). "Theoretically" I don't see why it shouldn't work, the only issue being that the onboard mobo audio is turned off in the BIOS to accommodate the audio card. What do you think? Or any other solutions? Thanks in advance.
