I'm installing a seasonic g 550 but the problem is I don't have a anti static wrist band but I do have a chair with a steel frame. Would it be safe to touch the frame every couple of seconds or just hold the case while im installing.

My greatest fear is that I zap my RAM because the 24 pin slot is right in front of my RAM

And how do I know if my PSU has been installed correctly and what will happen if it is not ?

Solution
Just touch the metal frame of your case before you touch any components.

It's really hard to install a PSU incorrectly.

Ti attaches to the case with 4 screws. Pay attention to the fan. In most modern cases the fan will take in cool air from the bottom (so the fan is facing down) and exhaust it out the back. The cables point to the inside of the case.

Make a note before you start of every old PSU cable that is connected and where it is connected. Note how many pins it has.

Then make sure you install the same number of connections plus whatever new connections you may have. Pay attention to the orientation of the connectors - some need force, like the 24-pin connector, but make sure they're oriented correctly and you're not forcing...

Then you should be good to go.
