Hi All,
I'm trying to implement SUS settings for an OU. I have set up these
settings on 2 of my other domains and the "Windows Updates" under Computer
configuration/Admin templates/Windows Components is there. When trying to set
it up on my third domain the "WIndows Updates" folder is missing. I don't
have a SUS server implemented in the third domain, I was just going to point
them to one of the others since there are only 10 users in the domain. Does a
SUS server have to be in the domain before the options will show up under
group policy?

Thanks!
Candie

No, an SUS server does not have to be in the domain before the options
show up under group policy.

To make that folder show up in the console, try right clicking on
"Administrative Templates" and selecting "add/remove templates". Click
Add, then select WUAU.ADM, which should be in %systemroot%\inf. Click
Open. Now, click off Administrative templates, then click back on
again. Expand the tree and you'll see that the Windows updates tree is
there now.

If you can't find WUAU.ADM, you can copy it to the above location from
one of the servers that already has it working - they should have it in
that same path:%systemroot%\inf
