GSync worth it?

I just got 2 gtx 970s. I'm looking at purchasing an asus vg248qe for $270. However, I've been hearing a lot of good things about g sync. Unfortunately, I have had no luck finding the DIY g sync kits. I am looking at the ROG pg2478q for $800. My question is, would having gsync warrant paying an extra $530 for a monitor. Does it make that much of a difference?

I've also heard that gsync doesn't make that much of a different when the card renders at such high rates, which I'm assuming 2 970s will do. Is this true?

You are not just paying for G-sync with Swift, you are also paying for the 1440p 144hz panel which is why the monitor is so dramatically more expensive than Vg248qe.

G-sync on its own is one of the best purchases I have made, it's hard to describe it without personally seeing it.

However, Swift requires a lot of tweaking on your own, and may be more hassle than it's worth on your end, so I'd probably wait for a little while, at least until Acer releases their XB270HU (120Hz IPS with G-sync). I do not regret Swift, I personally think it's an excellent monitor, but you need to do your homework to get the most out of it.

It's a personal choice, but I hear it is awesome. That DIY kit is no longer sold. The Rog is also a 1440p, 144hz monitor, which is the first one sold, so it is pricey.

AOC just came out with a 24" G-sync monitor that was on sale at Best Buy for $450, which is more in line with the vg248qe.

Acer has also announce two 1440p 27" G-sync monitors for march. One of which is IPS, the other TN. If you don't like a particular feature set of current available monitors, more are coming soon, so you might want to wait.
