Hi again, i installed a MSI Nvidia GT 1030 on my Lenovo Thinkcentre M82 SFF and did all the things like updated drivers and various testing, got high windows index score and everything was smooth sailing until i backup a bd with make mkv while browsing the internet and i then get:

On Mon 12/11/2017 11:49:21 PM your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\121117-24772-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x70E00)

Bug check description: This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

(these were copied from WhoCrashed reports)

This only happened twice whenever i use MakeMKV and browse on Google chrome, which makes me think i my be overloading my psu, but the report said its sounds like a driver issue not hardware related. I uninstalled and did clean install of all nivida drivers updated to the latest version and this only happens when tired to use the Pioneer ext BD drive while browse through chrome. IDK WHATS GOIN ON PLZ PLZ HELLP MEE!!!

Could it be possible that the integrated Intel driver is causing interference with the Nvidia one? Idk if u had to remove or disable the integrated before installing the card though the mobo can supposedly allow multi video output through a gpu and integrated.

My ThinkCentre M82 specs are:

Intel I5 (don't know the gen nor number) 3.2ghz, turbo to 3.7ghz

16gigs of ram (x2 8gbs I believe)

64bit Windows 7 Home Premium preinstalled (OEM)

Hitachi 2TB Hard Drive SATA 7200RPM

240w PSU (I was told that the 1030 card would work fine no problems even with the USB things I use since they don't draw that much power. I would be getting a lot more BSODs otherwise not just using MakeMKV and chrome at once, I used other multiple programs aside from those two at once and no issues, so it has to be something with Chrome, Make MKV or the updated Nvidia drivers).

UPDATE: Now sometimes when using Chrome for a while it makes the system lag and unresponsive at times, causing me to reset the pc. This sounds like Chrome is doing something that interferes with Graphics Card and/or the drivers, but i;m not 100% sure yet.

I did all driver updates and a clean install, this still happens from time to time. PLZ HELP!!

Just discovered that when im on any web browser while having another program like backup ect running the bsods stil show up.

EDIT: Now its turning in to getting that same bsod when doing a backup! This is soooo annoying!

I could RELLY USE SOME HALP HEREEEE PPL!!

vapour told me that 1030 card would run fine with the 240w PSU, even with various USB things plugged in as I've discuss wiyh him. I took it out and went back to the intergrated output, no lagging problems or BSODs now! Sounds liek I got a real defective POS since it's price was too good to be true, sso back to Amazon it goes!! The sucky drivers never worked properly and took AGES to install espically if a clean install dealing with BSOD shit, and Nvidia is a known company did they cheap out and use shitty sftware and components in recent year?

Until I hear from ppl with this cards issues and when someone can direct me to a proven card that has easy to use software/drivers, no major errors, and just fucken works, i'll stay put with my Intel integrated output since it still miles ahead of the Raedon 3000 in a HP Pavilion Simline. Speaking of Pavlion, I hope the GT 710 I got for that isn't a buggy POS ether...

Hard to tell without the crash dumps, but you can get blue screens from hardware issues easily. The card could have been defective, but it also could have not been getting enough power. If a graphics card isn't getting the power it needs from an underrated PSU, it can seize and bring the OS down with it randomly. It also can be caused by newer drivers being buggy, never hurts to try older ones.

I though copying the WhoCrashed reports wat the dump? I;m not too femlirar with dump files sorry, i never delt with blue screen errors before its kinda new to me. i'm not doing outlook becausae MS and their telemetry shit can go F themselves.

IIRC it say ntoskrnl.exe was the cause or something? Regardless, I think what I got was a POS that was not only defect but with the worst software possible as MSI drivers took almost 7 hours to insteall each time and they can suck a kock lirreraly. I gonna try the GT710 on my HP Pavilion and see how it goes. If I get the same exact shit, then it has to be the power supplies not being enough wattage (though I was told the cards are low wattage and would work with under 300w, thanks alot Vapour!!!)

I was told the cards are low wattage 25w and would work with under 300w PSU (Thanks alot Vapour!!!)

Allrighty, so I installed the GT 710 on the HP Pavilion (which is older, worser specs and 220w PSU mind you) I also got, no BSOD's so far and the drivers and just everything went much smoother and quicker than the MSI GT 1030 on the Lenovo. My guess is the 1030 was ether a defect, MSI just make junk alltogether, the drivers were more made for Wn 10 more than 7 causing more issues, or the Lenovo's mother board wasn't totally combadible with the card or the slot.

Ether way, the 1030 is goin back and i'll try ether a 710gt in x16 version, or a Raedon HD 6450 which some models of the M82 came with. I know those cards is worse performance wise, but i'm not some cra cra gamer and if I were into computer gaming i would get a decdicated system just for it. I just need something that looks better and plays video than what I have and work with my stock psu and no BSOD shit, thats all.

I tried older drivers when the 1030 was in there, and the same shit still happened. Guess my Mobo didn't lioke the card or my PC didn't like the drivers since everyone is optimizing for win 10 more and leaving those who are smart wityh 7in the dust.
