I have a 300 watt Athena psu in a emachines el 1852g-52w. And I want to run a gt430. I'm on a tight budget. Will this work?

Solution
You're cutting it way too close. And Athena Power PSU are generally good at one thing: blowing up. If you're lucky, it will only blow itself up, but unfortunately, it'll likely take down at least one other part in your computer since they're all connected.

Good reputed PSU manufacturers are Antec, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, and XFX. Try this Corsair CX500M one. It's $50.00 after rebate. Not a lot more than your Athena Power one but it's miles better.
