Hi

Trying to save some cash and not get GTS450 . Just woundering if gt440/430 would be ok for general low to medium gaming on a 19" monitor ??

8600gt has just blown and that just about played crysis and the gt440/430 have 3x the processers so i am assuming either will be ok on old dell 531 or is there some other spec item that makes them unsuitible for gaming??

Cheers Kev :sol:

Hi Hans

Thanks for reply , looks a great card and price ( wish newegg delivered to UK !! :bounce: )

I would love to get the gts 450 but already need new PSU too and cash a bit tight with 3 young kids and dog !!

From what i can gather GT440 is 3x as good as old 8600gt as far as cores go , just not sure if something else is lacking in the Gt440 for gaming .

Cheers Kev :sol:

I would say about 70 percent of any new game out on the market will perform more than okay, at med/high settings with this card.

I own a gt440, & haven't struggled playing crysis 2 on it. I own a 19'' monitor aswell :) . On my setup, I haven't had too much trouble running most of the games on it. A few exceptions are GTA4, & the card performs well on the game, but I have to tweak the settings maybe a little lower than some other gamers that have spent 100 dollars more on competitive gaming hardware. The game runs on med/high settings @ 30-35 fps, and can lower anywhere down to 20 fps.

Haven't had any trouble running black ops, or modern warfare 2 on it, bad company 2 performs well on it too.

All & all up to you, but I think for it's worth, a decent 100 dollar card that has dx11 support & will work on any 300 psu. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent upgrade. Not an Extreme Gaming card by any means, though.

I'm not a computer expert, but I've been happy with my purchase, & I would recommend it.
