GT 710 Compatibility

Hi Guys, I have a HP Elite 8100 SFF Intel i5 CPU 240w PSU and was wondering it could run/is compatible with the GT 710 video card or the R5 230 video card? The HDMI port is damaged on the integrated video card and I need to connect a second monitor so require a new video card.

Thanks for your reply. If they require 300w psu would I be able to run it considering I have only 240wpsu? If so, do you know of an alternative gpu that might work?

I picked up a HP Elite 8200 at Auction with a Quadro NVS 290 and it recommended a 350W PSU, it has the same dinky little 240W supply so a 710 GT shouldn't be a problem.

I mean I have put a ati HD6750 1gb in a HP prebuild with 300W psu and it worked fine
but it may also cause untold problems

There doesnt seem to be any cheap GPUs that require psu weaker than 300W...

GDDR5 is better
if the price is not much higher than the gddr3 then get the one with gddr5

GDDR5 has twice the bandwidth as GDDR3 so yes it makes a large difference. What is cheap by the way? You can find used 750 TI's for $40-$75 and those are a little faster than a 1030 GT which starts around $90, both of which can run off a 300W supply.
