How the heck do I compete in this race series? I've beaten all
beginner series, several pro series, but the cars in this series are
just unbeatable to me. I can play the Capri rally money races, so I
have basically unlimited funds, and I just cannot keep up with these
guys no matter which car I buy or how fast I make it.

Any tips? Is there a particular car I should be looking for?

Also, an unrelated question: when I'm looking to buy new cars, how can
I tell which ones will have Turbo options and which ones will not?
Kind of annoying to find out I'm limited from turbo after the sale
(bloody car salesmen! ;-).

I must admit I'm having trouble finding out stuff about cars with this
one, though I've only had it a day or so. How the hell do you sell a
car? and why doesn't it tell you the value, or whether they are rear
wheel drive etc, in the garage info for the cars you have?

That you do in the garage by clicking on a car. You'll see 'sell' and
'get in' options.

I think I did it in the Mercedes Benz McClaren SLR. Or maybe the
Viper. You might also try the TVR Speed 12.

Just wait til the last professional race. You need a certain kind of
race car to do it. My MB 3.5 million credit car apparently isn't
enough, as I come in 30 seconds behind the leader on my best try (and
B-Spec is worse).

I'm actually quite annoyed with GT4 - you don't so much race, so much
as just have a certain (or better) car than the AI. I wish you had
evenly matched races.

ah, I just read a bit on the web last night that certain cars don't
have a value, the ones you win from licences... thanks Joe

You don't so much compete with the AI as with the track and your own
abilities. The AI cars are sort of moving obstacles that are usually
so far ahead or behind that they don't actually matter.

I thought the same (and in GT3) until I did a local's race at Nurburgring
with my 433Bhp R33 V-spec. Was up against viper, XJ220, etc... And I was
winning by about 5 seconds up until my front tyres went red, and there's no
pit...

But then I'm still learning the game.

To win the Tuning Car Grand Prix you must have racing tyres (I recommend medium).
As for the car, you can use the Opera S2000 (Stage 3 NA Tuning) or Corvette GRAND SPORT (supercharged)

Hope this helps
