GT940m vs GT940MX vs GTX950m

I know GTX950m is a good gpu but I already own a desktop with GTX960.The real questions is GT940MX is a good gpu? I saw the laptop is in good price.Since I have GTX960 I don't think I need another strong gpu to play games.I just want to use to play games lightly on medium settings on laptop.

Both 940m and 940mx are lower tier gpus, but the 940mx seems to be slightly better, though personally I wouldn't go below 950m

Mind that a chip like the GTX 960M is slightly weaker than a GTX 750 Ti desktop graphics card. GTX 950M is even more below it.

I don't know much about laptop gpu below than GTX950m but do you think GT940MX will make it? I mean just a medium settings on decent games like GTA V,Dark Souls 3, The Evil Within especially upcoming COD 4 Remastered.Other demanding gpu games I can just play on my desktop.

For gaming get at least a x50. Anything under that will not cut it for gaming.

Hmm.. I have to say that 720p and 15.6 inches is equal to the PPI of 1080p at 24 inches. 720p to 900p are probably very doable on that screen size and playable too with a GTX 950M. Any lower I wouldn't go though indeed.

940M and 940MX are below GTX 950M. 940MX should be able to run GTA V just fine especially on 1366x 768 with a mix of high and medium settings.
