GTA 3 doesn't load saved games

So after having to go through much pain of collecting all the hidden packages in portland completing taxi mission,paradic,vigilante and firefighter I saved the game at portland safe house. But today is another story today I used the taxi glitch to get to staunton island I also noticed that one save from yesterday doesn't work the one which was saved at staunton island safehouse I did the same thing today collected all the hidden packages on staunton island (excluding the one in mid air) and completed the vigilante and firefighter on staunton island (I deleted all the other saves that I didn't needed so there were only two left). But in case I would get this happened again I saved multiple times.

1. when I arrived at staunton island (same as the save from yesterday no hidden packages collected or side missions done)

2. when I collected all the hidden packages

3. when I completed vigilante and firefighter

Each save was saved after each other but on different save slot and none of the staunton saved games worked also not sure if this will be help but I used borgnine to do the taxi glitch (the one where your car becomes invisible). I am not sure if I will continue doing gta 3 videos after this... hidden packages are so hard to get... also I tried to do a patch and it said I have unknown gta 3 version even though it is 1.1 it says so under programs and functions (that is the direct translation it might be called something else in english windows).

There was a patch looooooooooooong ago to fix the save game bug.

I already have that patch and it isn't working... so if I can make it work will I be able to load saved games? I'm pretty sure I can get a cracked gta 3 to see if it will work.

So uhh I am trying experimenting with gta 3's version you see the catch is I got myself a gta 3 1.1 version now but the old saves from gta 3 1.0 don't work (not even portland one) so it's bad... unless I mess around with gta 3 and replace each other files then I can actually play portlands saved game (not staunton one sadly). Is there a solution how to play old savefiles that haven't been saved on gta 3 1.1 or do I have to do all the hidden packages and everything from the start now?

If you know it would be helpful if there is a log which says what things have been fixed like there are useful glitches in gta 3 1.0 and I don't want them to be fixed.

My save files are in documents like with all GTA games do I have to move it or something?? I have never had problems with saves on any of the gta games except now recently for gta 3 that's the reason for this thread.

Try copying the GTA3sf1.b file in User Files folder and pasting it into the data folder in GTA3's directory. That worked with GTA SA.

Sadly this doesn't seem to work... I guess I will have to start all over again since gta 1.0 saves don't work on gta 1.1 I hope it really fixes the saves this way.

yeah, it sucks. all non HD GTA games have this problem in PC, rockstar never really bothered to give a definitive fix to the problem

All I can say now is that I've done everything in portland (besides actual missions) that means taxi,vigilante,parademic and firefighter mission and found all 33 hidden packages then I went to save on staunton (note after every event I have saved so I have like 7 saves, I have deleted the old ones since they were useless in 1.1) and guess what it actually loaded it I am glad it did.

Ugh it happened again and I have the 1.1 version and the save which doesn't load was saved of course at staunton island all the other saves work and one of them is also staunton island. I have done all the portland missions already and then this happened...

Nvm I think I fixed the issue I wasn't at the laptop all the time but it loaded it took long enough I have pasted the save file in data folder but I'm not sure if that fixed the issue or if it was simply loading that long.
