GTA 5 and steam

I am going to get a 256gb ssd for my PC as my only storage for now. I have heard that gta 5 uses 120gb when unpacking from steam. What does that mean. I have also heard that when it has unpacked the amount of storage it uses goes back down to 60GB is this true?

I dont think its quite 120gb when its unpacking but it is more than 60gb. I was able to download and install it on a half full 240gb ssd without issue. Try it, worse thats going to happen is it will tell you that you dont have enough space.

If you have an issue, you can get a moderately fast 1tb HDD for £38, or $50ish in 'murican munies

Yes it uses a lot of space! I had the same issue. The download was ~60gb and "unpacking" it was another 60gb during installation (120gb total). But once installed, its around 60gb ish, as it deletes the temporary downloaded files used for installation.

No worries though! It can be done. I just had to get rid of other games I had installed first
