GTA 5 CPU Bottleneck

So I recently discovered that GTA 5 manages to consume 100% of my CPU at startup, which then leads to it crashing shortly there after.

I have a AMD FX 8350, so I don't think it should be doing that....
My graphics card is a 970 as well, so it shouldn't be throttling my CPU, especially just during start up.
I'm fully updated on everything driver and windows related, as well as the most recent GTA patch.

Any ideas?

Don't remember exactly what mobo I got, but I got a upper end AMD one at the same time that I purchased the processor. And I'm running a 850W PSU. Like, short of my processor just being a bad unit, I can't forsee anything else being the issue with the hardware of my rig.

I had same issues..

My fix..

Bigger PSU.. reduced the load on VRM's and small cooling fan (noticed this with hwinfo and afterburner running OSD monitoring core speeds vs core Volts)

and minor overclock.. followed by VRM cooling and massive overclock so i could get high settings.. 😀

now around 4.8Ghz + boost to 5.3Ghz..

now looking at high end i7...

it looks like all fx8xxx have the same issue with GTA 5 and CPU load.. it will find the weakest art of your system and cripple it..

but its sooo worth fixing :)
