I run GTA on minimum graphics still it lags..

Solution
Gta5 online is pretty cpu heavy, a lot more than single player. Your laptop cpu is more than capable so id look at what you have running in the background and check cpu temps and speed that it isn't throttling.

Has this laptop played gta5 online fine previously?

Suggestion to improve system. What's your 8GB ram made of, 2x 4gb or 1x8? Gta5 does benefit dual channel ram and more so if had 16gb. An ssd would also go along way too if your laptop is running a hdd especially a slow drive like a 5400rpm hdd that are common in laptop configs.

Actually its 1x8, and its running on hdd not sdd. Shold i add sdd and 2 x 8 make it 16 ?
