GTA IV installation error !!!

I was just installing GTA IV the other day and suddenly i get a "catastrophic error". Is it because i was installing it on windows 10 or is there something else?

12gb ram
Nvidia GT 610 2gb

I've got plenty of storage left on my disk. This game used to work for me on Windows 7. Also I have tried changing the compatibility settings, but still nothing.

i see.i encounter the same issue as well before with one of laptop with gta 4 i think few years back.i was upgrading from 7 to windows 8 at that time.in the end i try a clean install of windows 8 instead of upgrading and surprisingly the game suddenly decided to finish installing.

i see.i encounter the same issue as well before with one of laptop with gta 4 i think few years back.i was upgrading from 7 to windows 8 at that time.in the end i try a clean install of windows 8 instead of upgrading and surprisingly the game suddenly decided to finish installing.

But mine is a clean installation of Windows 10

Yup visual c++, direct x.... Everything is up to date.

Yup visual c++, direct x.... Everything is up to date.

for visual C++ do u have all of the version?there is a complete package for them for download just incase you are missing a few older version.

I think I have them all , I update my softwares and drivers by Windows update.
