When I first installed GTA:SA, the compatibility was set to Windows 8 automatically.... when I ran it, I installed DirectPlay, but it gives me an error.
I've tried to set the compatibility to every Windows possible, but it won't work.
I don't have "Legacy Components" in programs and features.
I tried downloading DirectX, .Net framework, etc. etc. etc.

Is there a way to de-install DirectPlay? I don't have Legacy Components.

Well if anyone is going to know gta sa it's me.
Can you get me a picture of the error you get?
There's a big chance it's from the game itself since I reinstall it about 15 times a week.

First it tells me to install DirectPlay but the first option is greyed out and the 2nd is to skip it... but the screen dissapears after like 0.5 seconds and it gives me the error I've noted with 1.
Then when I press 'Close' it gives me error 2.

I think it has to do with the compatibility set to Windows 8 when I was installing it so it installed the wrong DirectPlay version... If there's a way to uninstall DirectPlay... damn... I'd like to know it.

Maybe go to the uninstall page in control panel.
I've never installed anything called DirectPlay as far as I recall and it never asked for it.
Maybe you can stop the DirectPlay service and switch it back on.
