GTA San Andreas lagging

Hi everybody. My problem is that I used to play GTA San Andreas on my Windows 7 pc with no problems and the game was running smooth. Then the computer started crashing and I took the pc to be repaired. It's working now but when I try to play the game it lags. I tried everything but couldn't fix the problem. It's so strange why this is happening; I even had the repair associate remotely tune up the computer and look for any problems. I updated my graphics card driver. No luck with anything. Please advise. The game used to run perfectly even on high settings.

Did you uninstall the old driver from you Installed Programs list before you installed the update?

If not, then it may be that the new upgrade preserved old, incorrect settings.

Try uninstalling the card, restarting the machine and then reinstalling your card.

Also, make sure the default VGA is set to PCI-E rather than 'on-board' if you can.
