GTA V Annoying crash

Okay so i got gta v.. i start the game it loads and all works fine i get in game.... the first mission.. and it works fine.. okay... now the bug i have is if im running holding w and the push Q to get behind cover. no matter where i am the game closes and stopped working

Its unusual that pressing both those keys would make the game crash but try remapping those keys or try a controller and see if that helps.

GTA V has had a lot of issues since its release. If you have the retail version, run a repair / reinstall and ensure you have the latest patches. Failing that, open a ticket with Rockstar Support and they will likely issue a patch to fix it at some point.

If you're running a pirated version, you're SOL.

Hello Gunner1531! I'm having exactly the same issue when I press the key to get behinf cover. I tried everything but not working (2 mouses, changed keys, double check RAM spare, re-installed, etc.). Did you find any solution so far?

If you are using a pirated version then yes. I think it was said that Rockstar North bind the Q key also for some security encryption thing which will crash if it detects a pirated copy.
Original copy will have no issue.

Some have said that patch 1.0335.1 introduced a cover crash, and that using the GTA V exe from the prior update fixes it.

Whatever the case, it's clear that Rockstar have slipped a lot on their coding. Max Payne 3 was nearly flawless by comparison.

Yes!...ish i made it so there is no key that covers because its the action of taking cover that crashes the game.. sucks but its the only way for it to work.. ive found many crashes and while playing too so if you ever get stuck somewhere let me know

I have the same problem too the game always crash or freeze because i was pressing Q to get cover but when i also switching characters or aiming while driving, the game crashes too i even cant complete the game because of the final mission the option c Deathwish so i,d replace my video card with another one that is stronger id clean my CPU because its getting dusty and id also downloaded Windows Xp and the game improved faster but if id try to switch characters or aim in a car or getting in cover again it still crashes so i need to start all over again skip missions that leads to crashing the game ( by switching or automaticly switching to another character)
and hope it for the best so it will not crash (sorry if there any wrong grammar )

I too have the same problem but I can take cover,but afterward the bex64 error returns after you attempt to enter a vehicle after you have taken cover once.I tried everything but it doesnt go away.
