Hello, So I just started playing GTA V and i'm finding myself quite confused as to why i'm having trouble getting my fps at a sustainable 55+. My rig exceeds the recommended specs and It comes and goes, but on average i'd have to say it's around 45fps. Playable, tolerable, but annoying.
Here are my specs:
Mobo-ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0
GPU-EVGA NVIDIA gtx980 SC w/ 4gb ram
RAM-Team Vulcan DDR3 16Gb 2133mhz(O.C), currently set @ 1866mhz for system stability
CPU-AMD fx8350 Black Edition Vischera 8-core @4ghz (4.2ghz turbo)
CPU Cooler-Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO w/ dual 120mm fans
SSD-Samsung 840 EVO 120gb
HDD-Seagate Barracuda 1Tb @7500rpm
PSU-EVGA 850w Semi Modular
Currently I don't have anything overclocked, but seeing as my CPU never really goes above 40 Celsius, I think I could get away with upping it to maybe 4.5, maybe higher...Idk though. Over-clocking has always kinda scared me. Now, i've noticed that the FPS drops happen because of anti-aliasing (as usual). I've messed around with it and found that FXAA hits the least and if I turn off FXAA and turn on MSAA(or MXAA, whatever) x2 and TXAA it only hurts just 1 or 2 fps more. Every other setting is maxed out and barely impacts my system. Any insight as to what I could do to increase my performance would be greatly appreciated. Also, I have spent some time tweaking all the graphics settings and finding a comfortable middle ground that gives me an average of i'd say... 50fps, but it would be nice to be able to crank everything up and still have good fps. My system should by all means be able to do that.
