Alright. This is interesting.
SETUP:
I5-6600
GTX 750 Ti
1366X768 Resolution
EVGA 500W PSU
GTA V runs great, usually at a steady 60 FPS, usually going into the higher 100 FPS range. I have a strong CPU and low monitor resolution, and strictly play at ALL HIGH SETTINGS.
Well, I had my card overclocked at +65 MHz, clock and memory offsets both. I was running EVGA PrecisionX FPS limiter, and had no idea I was reaching 60+ FPS. I overclocked to +71 MHz and the game crashed. I started it up with no overclock, getting a steady 90 FPS or so, dropping to 50 with explosions and whatnot, then it crashed.
I open the game again, it runs at a NON-SOLID 20-30 FPS, even dropping down to 5/10 FPS. I've tried restarting the computer, not overclocking, turning off the power supply and computer completely.
I am so confused, I played Life Is Strange the other day with no issues, haven't played many games since. I cannot narrow it down between GTA V or my GPU, I played Shadow of Mordor the other day with no problems.
I feel as if it is a GTA V problem, but at the same time a GPU problem. As I am typing this, I am "verifying the game integrity cache".
VSync is turned off, and turned off in the NVIDIA Control Panel aswell.
Could someone give me some guidance on how to fix this, and if I may have broken my GPU/Power Supply doing this?
EDIT: AS SOON AS I PUBLISHED IT, IT SAID, "VAILED TO VALIDATE 162 FILES, REACQUIRING, GOING TO TEST GTA V RIGHT NOW.
NO DICE, GAME IS STILL RUNNING 30 FPS.
SHADOW OF MORDOR IS NOT RUNNING LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO, I'M POINTING FINGERS AT THE CARD/POWER SUPPLY.
