Okay, there are endless threads, youtube videos, and google search listings regarding the graphics lagging/stuttering and disappearing textures after 15 minutes of playing GTA V. This is not my issue. I have never seen or heard anyone talk about the issue I am having which is really frustrating.

Background:

Been playing GTA V for a year or so on ULTRA graphics settings. I play offline and with LSPDFR police mod. Never any issues. One day a few weeks back I wanted to play a single player mission and for some reason I couldn't. So I turned off all my firewall login fixes and set the correct date so that I could play online (Those steps are to keep the game from signing on and constantly updating or authenticating), but that is also not my issue, so lets get back on track. While online it needed to update which I was expecting. It did update and I still couldn't play the single player missions. So I said, screw it and I reverted my game back to the normal .877 patch that I have been using for a year now and everything has been perfect. I have even done this step of updating and then reverting many times. All went well and I loaded back into game with my old setup. Loading times were fine, but now as soon as I see my character it is stuttering, freezes, choppy, lagging, and buildings in the back load in very slowly. This goes on for about 5 minutes as if it is loading the entire GTA world. After the 5 minutes everything works perfectly and 60fps from then on. So what the heck happened? I tried working with mods folder in OpenIV and nothing changed, I took mods out and nothing changed, I even allowed it to update again and reverted and still same thing. I did all the fps limiter fixes and file fixes from youtube and websites to fix "THEIR" common lagging issues from Rockstart's bad patch files. That is not my issue and even when I did try those, they didn't work.

It sounds like my graphics card is not coming on or activating for about 5 minutes into the game so it has no graphics power behind it and then after 5 minutes I hear my graphics card fans speed up like normal and then graphics are at 60fps and look great. I have also updated new drivers, old drivers, you name it. What the heck is going on? I have played other games such as BF4 to test my GPU and its working great.

Its almost as if the newest patch installed some weird file and corrupted my game or Windows even though I reverted back to an old patch which still works great, it just take 5 min to start working well. This is why I think it might be some type of file thing or something associated with the communication between the game and my graphics card. The graphics card is not recognizing that it is in the game or it is being pushed aside while other things load and take place. Its almost as if something is telling my gpu to not start up yet and it lags behind while all the buildings are loading in, then fan kicks in, gpu kicks in, and 60fps from then on. I have never heard anyone else talk about this. I reiterate, I DO NOT have the lagging game issues that everyone else has been having which with them, the game starts up perfectly fine and then after 20 minutes of play THEN it starts lagging and textures start disappearing. Those issues seems to be from either a corrupt update, memory issue, or CPU issue heating up. I DO NOT have those issues. What else do you think it could be? My CPU and GPU stay at a nice 45C-55C the entire time of game play on Ultra settings. Keep in mind I have been playing GTA V just fine for a year now with the computer specs and all of the sudden this started. My specs below.

Win7
i7 4790k 4GHz 8CPU
8GB ram
1TB 7200rpm Hard drive
GTX 970 FTW 4GB

I have always played on the highest Ultra settings with vsync and everything maxed and still got easily 50-60 steady game play up until a week ago. What is going on and what happened? I haven't reinstalled my game from a fresh copy yet since that would take me all day with trying to install all my mods again which are only a few, but confusing. I reiterate I have been playing for a year just as is so its not my mods either. Please let me know your ideas or if you have had this problem what you did to fix it. Thank you.

Ok this may not be a fix but i want to share it to you. is your gpu in nvidia control panel in "prefer maximum performance" mode? if yes. then here's my thoughts. i myself have i5+ gtx 960 with gta V on very high settings WITH photo realistic mods stable at 60fps. and i experience that too. well, sometimes. but not that long probably 30 sesconds 2 mins max. and everytime this happens its because of hard disk write. something is taking the hard drives write/read focus on something instead of your gta v loading. here for example. i was playing gta v for a couple of hours then all of a sudden it stutters a lot. i alt+tab imimmediately open task manager and boom. my anti virus is scanning my drive. that tanks the hard drive focus more of its read/write speed on the antivirus. sometimes not antivirus could be nvidia contrainer or something. and i encountered this to other games not just gta v. thats why every time i play a demanding game i always turn off my anti virus or end some process.

Thank you for responding. I actually have my settings for max quality. I also don't have a antivirus software. I only have the basic windows firewall and Microsoft essentials which I have turned off. I think you are on to something with my hard drive focused elsewhere, but what could it be? I have watched the task manager and haven't noticed anything coming on that is demanding. Its as if the game is what is demanding and the cpu is working or the hard drive is working hard and its keeping the gpu from starting/initiating until all buildings are loaded in and then my gpu kicks in. Any other ideas? Also, the loading of the buildings and world is always the exact same. It starts semi stuttering, then kinds of works at like 25fps, and then gets super horrible and freezes for 35 seconds, and then comes back and then locks up for almost a minute and does this about 5 times and then all is well and flawless 60fps. What the heck?

Sounds like a memory leak or your graphics are set to high, Look in the advanced tab and and make sure the use High resolution shadows is turned off, that setting alone will eat up 2GB of vram easily.

I Play GTA5 all the time on ultra on my 3GB 780ti's, the only issue with my cards are its 3GB of vram, The advanced tab I got Extended view distance up half way, any higher I start to experience the same thing you just explained. I can not have High resolution shadows on or I get single digit FPS most of the time.

So I found out what the issue was to anyone else experiencing my same problem. Its Enhanced Native Trainer that caused all the issues. I was using GTA V patch .877 with ENT update 30 and all was working find. When I was forced to updated my game to .944.2 this is when all the stuttering and issues started happening. I couldn't remove one mod at a time since I had so many and when I tried this the game would crash. So I decided to just do a fresh install and go one mod at a time. Yep it was ENT update 30. I updated ENT to version 32 and still same issues. I downgraded to version 28 and that worked perfectly fine. So the issue is something that ENT ver. 30-32 is using is not compatible with the latest GTA 944.2 update. I am now running on the latest 944.2 update with ENT version 28 and everything is working fine now. Although, version 28 is quick limited since its an early design. Does anyone have version ENT 29? Apparently this one has more features and might still work for me.

I experienced the same thing!!! exactly few days ago, ENT Problem, just keep using ENT 33, but then u must change the gameconfig.xml, that was the main cause of problem.

for GTA .877 with ENT 33, this is must download gameconfig :
http://www.gtainside.com/en/gta5/mods/96315-nocrash-game-to-add-on-replese-vehicles-new-1-0-877-1/

(Replace) install file copy the file ¨gameconfig¨ to mods folder \ update \ update. rpf \ common \ data

perfectly works smooth nice asfauauaucck beachessss, hell yeah 😀

Ah thank you, that is really cool. Things are currently working well, but now I am running into the very common issue where out of nowhere it drops to 10fps and then back to 60fps randomly. Any idea about fixing that? I have updated my GPU and currently have a really stable .877 game. I notice the lag most of the time when playing LSPDFR through RAGE. Vanilla exe. seems to be okay and smooth for the most part, so I am assuming it might be a plugin/mod or just overloaded with 15 mods or so all running for LSPDFR. What do you think?
