So, I've been playing GTA 5 for a few days now, and yesterday it randomly started lagging and now I get only 5-10 fps while I used to get 60+. I've been googling for hours, made sure my drivers were updated and everything and I still didn't solve the issue.
And yes, my computer exceeds the minmum requirements. Please help!

When you state that the system exceeds the minimum requirements, it's usually followed by specs of said system. Mind sharing them with us? List your PSU's make and model as well as it's age.

Uninstall and reinstall your GPU drivers and see if that helps.

Never rely on temps, check for actual clocks since clocking down happens solely to keep temps within the normal range.
But if it stays at 5-10FPS for longer times it's probably a bitcoin malware or something.

I don't think it's malware that's causing this problem, I've checked my pc for viruses yday with malwarebytes and it's the same.
Specs:
Nvidia GT 710 (2GB)
i5-3470 3.20ghz CPU @ (4 CPUs) ~3.2GHz
8GB ram
I couldn't really get msi afterburner to check for clocks though.

If you don't want to play in windowed mode with core temp in a corner you will have to setup hwinfo to show clocks together with afterburner.

Depending on how they get you it won't show up as malware, bitcoin mining is a legitimate thing after all and a anti malware can't know if you want to do it or not.

yes but i don't experience any fps drops or lag in any other games

Yeah that's not good,it should be pegged at full speed all the time while gaming.
Go to windows control panel, power options and select performance mode and make sure that both min and max CPU performance is at 100% to check out if it fixes your problems.
