My system: Upgraded Acer Predator G3620.
i7 3770 @ 3.4 - 3.9 GHz
EVGA GTX 970 SSC
Crucial BallistiX Sport 16GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz
Corsair CX600M
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Windows 8.1
I don't remember exactly when it started but during the last three months I've been experiencing stuttering or hiccups in GTA V. Like the game is freezing for a split second. I think it started some time after I upgraded to a 970 from a 660 in late October or early November. Though I'm not 100% sure that I had no stuttering with my 660. Either way it's really annoying and happens every few seconds and ruins the experience in my opinion. Aside from the stuttering the game runs fine on high/very high settings with a stable framerate.
To try and fix the issue it feels like I've done everything. I have tried running the game on low settings, alt tabbing out and back in again, tried different Nvidia control panel settings, different drivers, clean installs of drivers, defragmented my HDD, reinstalled my OS. That is what I can remember I have done at this moment. I also recently upgraded my memory from 8GB 1333MHz to 16GB 1600 MHz. It seems like the memory upgrade helped but the problem still exists. Does anyone have a solution to this?
