GTA V suddenly lags

Hello

First of all, sorry, english is not my first native language.

I have been playing GTA V for a month now (only story mode), and suddenly it's acting up. The lag is really crazy, basically I can't play it anymore.

I have tried to turn all graphic settings to "normal", but that doesn't help. I tried setting resulution to min and that helped a little.
My CPU is around 100 °C, that's also something it has never done before.

My pc is not the best, but it should be able to handle it.

Specs:
i5-4690, 3.50GHz
24 GB RAM
GTX 770
Windows 10

Anyone knows that could be wrong and/or how to fix it?

Btw, yes, all drivers should be up to date, and I have tried turning it off and on again. XD

Solution
1| Did you make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard?
2| Did you uninstall and reinstall your GPU drivers?
3| Reading your post again, you seem to be having memory leak. See if a repair install changes your experience and the CPU temps drops.

Good luck!
If the CPU is at 100c then your thermal throttling. I suggest cleaning the pc thoroughly and maybe remounting your cooler while putting new thermal paste on, also check if the fan is still spinning on the heatsink

I agree. 100c is too much for any CPU, so throttling occurs too not damage the cpu. Perhaps you can test it with a normal fan (you know, the kind to keep yourself cool) pointed at the PC with the sidepanel detached.
It should keep it a bit more cooled and might make a noticable difference, but it isn't a solution.
Cleaning and putting on new thermal paste is the next step after testing.

Are you using the stock cooler on your CPU?

Your CPU temps are the problem. When it starts to reach dangerous temps it will slow the CPU speed down to compensate for the high temps causing your game to slow down also.

Take the CPU fan off, clean it out free of dust and debris. Clean the old thermal paste off the CPU and reapply fresh thermal paste. That should fix your issue.
