gta4 is not working on my laptop its saying that your xlive.dll is missing from your computer . try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. plz frnds help me

You need to install/reinstall the Game for Windows marketplace client. You can find it at http://www.xbox.com/en-us/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient

Also, you need to be prepared to deal with what is probably the buggiest port to PC ever.

And I hope your laptop has some serious gonads, because even my 955B/GTX460SC+/8gb DDR3 half-decent rig that plays BF3 on Ultra at 50+ frames/sec can barely squeeze 30 frames/sec out of GTA4 on medium settings...

The game is a train wreck.
