Gts 240 Or Gtx 260

Hey guys i was wondering Would a 1024MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTS 240 be good or 1792MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 260 add $141.90 be worth the extra money?

What resolution are you playing at? an 896mb GTX260 is sufficient, you dont need the double memory. Where did you find a GTS240? Im unfamiliar with that card, did you mean a GTS250? The GTX260 is stronger than the GTS250 by a fair margin and is definitely worth the price premium, but only for an 896MB card.

its on the alienware australia website for the aurora and i play at 1600 by 1050 so the gtx 260 is a very powerful card

The GTX260 is actually a generation old at this point but is a good card for the money especially over a GTS250. The GTS250 even older tech and basically a 9800GTX+ rebadged. For 1600X1050 go for the GTX260 ( hopefully a GTX260 core 216)

GTS 240 is an OEM part. but they said that they will sell the card as discrete card later. but i'm not really sure when
