Hi!

I'm looking forward to upgrading my GPU. My old HD6850 had died.

I am kind of low on budget and want a decent gaming GPU so I thought of the GTX 1050 Ti.

The thing is I'm confused. There are too many editions and variations of the card. Three options I got are those:

  • ■ ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB
    ■ Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC 4GB
    ■ ASUS Expedition GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Gaming 4GB

Here are the links respectively:

I want to know what are the differences between those? And if the differences are worth the price differences or not? If there are differences, are they too many and noticeable?

Thank you for your help.

Essentially they all have the same GPU, the same vram/memory spec. and as mentioned above, the differences come down to the coolers and cosmetics. They are all dual fan cards. The PCB and designs may slightly vary with different power delivery. Hence the noticeable differences are...

ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB ROG STRIX OC has the highest factory (out of the box) GPU clocks speeds, so will offer 'a few' more fps. Up to 10% in some games, but less in others. However it requires power via a 6-pin PCI-e connector. This 'should' offer the best results of the three when it comes to overclocking. Although all of these cards can be overclocked to some extent anyway. The cooler is the beefier of the 3, which would also assist you there...

There are a few other features such as connectors for case fans included on the card. A nice feature but it's hardly essential (!) Downside is that it's the most expensive. It offers the least value for money.

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Windforce OC also requires a 6-pin connector, but is clocked a little lower than the Asus Strix 'out of the box'. Manual overclocking is going to be quite similar to the Strix, but it's less of a premium card overall.

ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB EXPEDITION does not require a 6-pin, and comes clocked at reference speeds. It's a decent overclocker nonetheless. Reviews are very favourable for this card too.

If your PSU does not have a 6-pin connector available, then unless you get a new PSU, I'd get the ASUS Expedition.

The other two cards 'may' offer slightly better results for manual overclocking in addition to having slightly higher factory clock speeds, but you can overclock all of these cards anyway regardless.

I'd get the Gigabyte if you wanted the cheapest and/or really wanted a bit more potential overclocking headroom.

But that ASUS Expedition is a good choice if you don't care for all of that and/or don't have a spare 6-pin on your PSU.

Again, ultimately the cards are all fairly similar. As they are all non-reference, dual-fan, 4GB 1050Tis.

A bit more info: The PSU is CoolerMaster 500W. My old (now faulty) that I'll be replacing GPU was HD6850 and it used 2 6-pin connectors.
