So i bought a gtx 1050 ti 4gb yesterday and when i tried to connect it with my monitor , i found out that my monitor only has 2 ports:-

1-Dvi-d dual link "it doesn't have that 4 pins"

2-normla vga port

my gtx 1050 has 3 ports , 2 hdmi and 1 dvi-d , so i went back to the shop and asked for a dvi-d cable but the guy told me i dont need that and he gave me a (Hdmi to vga converter) and he told that it should work fine , when i connected that converter to my monitor , my monitor couldn't get any signal , it cant feel my gpu at all , i tried the converter in my tv and it worked , so it's just about my monitor , here's a link to my monitor https://www.cnet.com/products/hp-compaq-le2002x/specs/

so what should i do now? should i get a dvi-d cable ? or it won't work ?

thanks in advance
