Hello ,

So , my r9 270x died from 4 years of usage (shows artifacts) , and I bought a new graphics card , GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB GDDR5 128-bit without 6x pin , and I have a monitor which is acer v206hql 1600x900 with vga https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/professional-model/UM.IV6AA.A02 , the old r9 270x was connected through dvi-i to vga and it worked fine , this gtx 1050 ti doesn't have dvi-i , only dvi-d , hdmi and displayport. So I bought an adapter hdmi to vga without audio jack , it cost me like $5 . The adapter works , the display works , but I noticed few problems : on the native resolution or even on lower resolutions ( less visible ) , there's a flickering on the text on top right and top left of the screen , like the names on desktop , logos on sites , text on sites , it flickers if you look closely . Another problem is that the games don't run smooth despite the fps , I mean now I have higher fps than before because of this video card , but it's not smooth , it's laggy , stuttering , freezes appear during the game , even games like league of legends or even csgo , I basicaly can't play csgo , it's so laggy even on lowest settings and even lower resolutions , league of legends 200 fps , 100 - 150 fps mid-late game when there are more things going on , fortnite 100-200 fps , it just doesn't matter , it runs choppy and weird, I know the monitor is 60hz and it can only show 60 , if more it's gonna do that , but when I had the old graphics card it was better . Only if I enable the setting vsync they run smooth with no tearing , this helped me in doom 4 , but if it's off it runs so bad and I can't use vsync in online games like csgo or League of Legends , even on low or ultra , same thing , or if I cap the fps it's same or even worse because it drops to 50 in some games . I have this monitor since 2014 , maybe I need a new one because this one is dying ? Or is it because of this adapter hdmi to vga .I'm thinking of buying another cable for the monitor and gpu , vga into monitor and dvi-d in the gpu , maybe it will work ? Something like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/dvi-d-vga-cable-adapter-DVI-D-24-1-to-VGA-converter-dvi-d-to-vga/32831539073.html , plug the vga in monitor and the dvi-d in the gpu , would it work or I wouldn't have image on the display ? And if it works would the problems from above go away?
And one more thing , the image is a little bit weirder than before , darker I may say , from what I read from internet this might be because of the hdmi.

My specs are :
i5 4460 3.2ghz
8gb ram 1600mhz ( 2x4 )
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB GDDR5 128-bit without 6x pin
acer v206hql 1600x900 https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/professional-model/UM.IV6AA.A02

Thanks for reading , and hope you can help me somehow.

Vga is analog signal. Dvi-i carries analog and digital, dvi-d is pure digital, as is hdmi and display port. So to get an analog signal from the pure digital of the 1050ti will require a digital to analog converter of some sort, these are generally powered converters, but get power via the hdmi cable. Needless to say, the cheapest converters will more than likely not be very good, you'll get what you pay for.
Yeah some adapters work at lower refresh rates(lower then 60) and could cause this problem,it could also be that the old drivers weren't removed correctly and cause problems(since some games work well).
Go to nvidia control panel and change the sync method to fast sync it won't cut off FPS but will wait for full frames to display,it sould be better then what you get now.

Paragraphs are your friend.

The new generation of cards output digital only. So no VGA outputs on them. This also means when you use an adapter, it has to be an 'active adapter'. These are not the cheap $5 adapters.

The old cards could output analog, which is why you could use the cheap passive adapters with those.

I use something like this https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1534122308&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=hdmi+to+vga&smid=A27VPIZROR8N4S&psc=1 , it cost me 5 dollars sale from 8 dollars.
It does display image but it is poorly , I don't know how to say it , screen is flickering if u look closely , and as I mentioned , games run poorly.

This monitor only has vga.

Maybe I could use something like this ? https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Active-Adapter-DVI-D/dp/B012DLMS1W/ref=pd_sbs_147_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B012DLMS1W&pd_rd_r=ES0E3Z4T8TK2DZN5K01V&pd_rd_w=X5kTc&pd_rd_wg=WsFKV&psc=1&refRID=ES0E3Z4T8TK2DZN5K01V#customerReviews

Since newer monitors have hdmi and mine is older , I used to have dvi-i so with dvi-d maybe it will work fine without problems , and this adapter is active so it will work dvi-d to video card and vga from monitor right ?
