I know you can't really compare Nvidia with AMD but is the RX 470 4GB as good as the 1050 Ti? Because where I live the RX 470 costs more than the 1050 Ti. And the 480 is even more expensive so I'm not gonna buy that one. I'm on a really small budget, I currently have a Radeon HD7870 Tahiti (more like a 7900 series but it's a 7800 for some reason) and I want to upgrade. If the 1050 Ti is as good as the 470 then I'll just buy the 1050 Ti because it's 30 euros cheaper.

The 470 beats the 1050 ti by more than a few frames. It gets 25% better fps on average at 1080p.

If the 470 will cost the OP approximately 25% extra or less compared the 1050 ti, then it would be the better buy.

I wouldn't upgrade from what you have to a 1050 Ti because the performance jump isn't enough to justify the cost in my opinion. This is especially true if you are on a tight budget. On a budget you need maximum performance gain per dollar spent. Something with 7900 series performance isn't that slow. A 470 is a worthwhile jump, assuming you play AAA games at 1080p and want higher settings and framerate. This is also assuming the rest of your system, like the power supply, is up to the job.
