Hello.

How do the 1050 and 1050ti compare to the 950 and 960, respectively?

On the talk of the 1050s, which should I get? 1050 or 1050ti? I will be playing at medium-high settings, 1080p.

Thanks.

Solution
they are almost even really. the 1050 is a touch above the 950 and the 1050 ti is just about right on the 960. other than power draw, the 1050 ti is a bit too expensive right now to suggest over a 960 itself. the 1050 is a better buy for the money.

but wait a month and this will change. not only will amd and nvidia tinker with pricing, but holiday sales will be upcoming in a few weeks. it's well worth the wait for supplies to grow, prices to stabilize and holiday sales to pop up.

for a list of cards with specs and reviews where available keep an eye on this thread. still adding cards and reviews as i get the time to seek them all out...

It seems the 1050Ti's extra performance isn't worth the price premium: get a 1050, or wait until the dust settles in the Nvidia/AMD price war on the low-range.

It depends on the games. Deus EX, the new one, at 1080p medium/high is not the same as CSGO at 1080p medium/high. If you want to game at 1080p on newer games AND an RX 470 is out of your price range, you'll want the 1050 ti in the same way you'd want a 960 4gb card instead of a 2gb 950.

I'd recommend the 1050 or 960. The 950 I'd outdated at this point and the 1050 ti (as said earlier) isn't worth the price premium. 960 I'm pretty sure is higher performing slightly than the 1050, so it all depends on budget and the other parts of your build.
