Hi guys, I want to upgrade my cpu from a ryzen 3 1200 to a ryzen 7 1700. I currently have a gtx 1050ti which I will most likely upgrade in the near future. However I want the cpu as soon as possible so I can stream with a single pc. Can this combo be worse for gaming than my current combo of the 1200 and 1050ti? Thanks

Solution
No, the 1700 is a good bit better than the 1200. I agree with rhoban, the 2700/2600 chips will be released this week, so I would hold off. Additionally, the 6 core chip / 12 thread CPUs will be more than enough for streaming and you can use the money saved to put towards a better GPU.

Good Lord, of course 8 cores is better for gaming while streaming than 4 cores. (However, most report good results in that with the R5-1600/1600X as well....; and as mentioned above, the R5-2600 results, likely clocked 200 MHz faster or so, will be out in 3 days..)

Wait for the new CPUs. But anyway, currently, I've got a 1600 clocked to 3.7ghz and a 1050ti. 1050ti isn't a terrible card, but it will basically be a bottleneck to your CPU. In other words when you are gaming, the CPU will want to run like a Corvette, but the GPU will hold it back a bit on frames unless you turn down graphics a little.
