Hi i have a optiplex with a intel i5 3540 (i think) and i want to know if work with a gtx 1050ti without any psu problems

Solution
Yes, it will work. But you do so at your own risk. I had that same 240W PSU in my Dell Optiplex 790 SFF (identical to yours) and installed a low profile GTX 1050 Ti in it. I had no problems running it and the CPU at 100% usage for all the time I owned the PC. But be aware that the +12v rail is only rated for 17a. My Kill-A-Watt meter indicated I was right at that range when maxed out gaming. Fortunately, I think Dell under-rates their PSUs.

I second that. It will work, right on the edge, just remember to get low profile card with low profile brackets. Cluchc, do you remember which card you used (manufacturer).

I really don't remember noise being an issue either. The tiny fans on the card, PSU (?), and the case front didn't seem to generate a lot of noise. Or were well muffled by the case. But noise is a personal thing. Some folks are annoyed at the least amount, others don't "hear" it. Usually the games had more noise than the PC.

I'd be interested in hearing how the OP is doing with his setup after all these months.
