GTX 1050Ti on old PC

Hello guys I have a old pc , and i am about to upgrade the GPU to GTX 1050 Ti
So my question can my mobo work fine with the 1050Ti and my CPU will bottleneck the card?
PC Specs :
Motherboard : GA-M57SLI-S4 https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-M57SLI-S4-rev-20#ov
CPU : AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition 2.8GHz
RAM : 6GB
GPU : GTX 260 ( Will get upgrade)

the cpu will hold it back some. that's an old cpu but the mobo won't have any issues running the card. you'll just lose a bit of what the card can do since the cpu will hold it back.

Thank you for fast respond , and also just to ask i was looking in a lot of forums says about the PSU , well the GTX 1050 Ti want 300W i have a Fortron ATX-400PNR 400W , will i have problems with PSU or not ?

I think you should be fine if you unlock the 4th core of your processor and you overclock it a bit

The gtx 1050 ti only uses 75 watts from the motherboard so you should be fine

you do need to be sure you buy a 1050ti model that only uses the 75w pcie slot. some models have the need for a 6-pin connection. here is a list of cards along with psu needs. just grab one that does not use a 6-pin like the evga models or any of the many others

You might not be able to unlock the 4th core because it comes down to luck. For overclocking you do it in the BIOS just like you unlock the 4th core. There's plenty of youtube tutorials of how you can do it.

Well i've heard that the Black edition has more luck to get unlocked , Also i can try the CPU how it is goes without the overclock and if it is good i should keep it or?

that one needs a 6-pin connection which you do have from the psu. so it should be ok, not sure about any overclocking as i doubt it'll help much. can't overcome a really old cpu with a few extra mhz, just don't work that way

your welcome. i expected no 6-pin but looked up the psu and it has one. you should be good to go with the new gpu.

remeber to uninstall the drivers for the old card before installing the new one. will help save some possible headaches

Yes i know i will be good because the GTX 260 have 2x 6-pin , but thank you for the driver advice, appreciate it !! Have a nice day dude!
