Yesterday I made a thread about my new GTX 1050ti not giving picture and I was kindly helped by the community(Was using wrong type DVI adapter for my VGA monitor).

Well I bought an adapter but not DVI,I found an Active HDMI one.Plugged that sob in and it showed picture,I installed the drivers, selected resolution, and everything works except for these horizontal pink thin lines going one after another(they show and disappear very fast, can barely catch a picture of them with my phone)

The order of them moving is uniform, not random, they go from top of the monitor to the bottom one after another. Its not that particularly obstructing, games work fine, but they are very annoying.

I did the old Fraps trick and screenshots don't capture them, meaning they don't come from the GPU and probably its the monitor.

Do you think the HDMI>VGA adapter is causing this?I have no way to plug the monitor via alternative adapter. This one is the only one I bought.

Solution
It's either the cable or monitor, you are correct on that. If the cable change doesn't fix it, you'll either have to live with it or upgrade the monitor.
It could be screen tearing. However I have not experienced a screen tear with pink lines.

Is your fps much higher than your monitor's refresh rate?

Try turning on V-sync and see if that solves it.

And yes you are 100% right if recording software is not producing the problem it is the monitor or a cable/adapter.

It doesn't happen just in games for me to fiddle V-Sync,its happening all the time, even right now as I type.

Or am I just ignorant and the desktop also has V-sync settings?

My current refresh rate is set to 60hz in the Nvidia settings.

Its a BenQ lord knows what,I bought it back in 2007 with my first computer. Its big,22`,but only has one single VGA cable and nothing else.

I turned on Vsync from 3d settings tab and nothing happens, line still flicker.
