Can anyone please advise which option to take as an alternative or maybe just wait for my order to be delivered ?

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE:
- SAPPHIRE NITRO+ RX 570 (4GB) ordered but no ETA from supplier so looking at alternatives (AMD or NVIDIA)
- Any suggestions welcome !

BUDGET RANGE:
- Ordered @ R3700 (+- $275)
- Willing to add a few bucks, but a $25 increase (10% in US) hits us at +- 20%)

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:
- Gaming @ 1080p on High if possible (Enthusiast only)

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY:
- No GPU yet, awaiting order that might take weeks , Corsair VS650W

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
- MSI H97 GAMING 3, i5 - 4460 @ 3.2 ghz, (MOBO ONLY DX11 compatible)
- Corsair Vengeance 8GB kit
- NZXT 410 PHANTOM CASE (Fan cooled no OC'ing or planning to OC - NOOB!)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:
- WOOTWARE < ordered from, REBELTECH & EVETECH (SOUTH AFRICA)
- PS: Our prices are so outdated etc. you will often find older GPU's more expensive (OLDER not BETTER)

PARTS PREFERENCES:
- No preference just want good build quality for decent price, no need for BRANDS etc. Sapphire impressed me with reviews etc.
- Had a Gigabyte GTX 650 (2GB), then MSI 960 (2GB) most recently

OVERCLOCKING:
- No I'm to Noob (Only had single GPU's so no dual GPU's on the cards soon, too $$$ also.)

MONITOR RESOLUTION:
- Samsung SyncMaster T260 (25.5") > Gaming @ 1920x1200
- Should I rather game @ 1920x1080 ?

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
- Just looking to get something as future-proof as possible in my small budget. Have not thought about multi GPU setup as my MOBO also cannot run DX12 and will have to start seemingly from scratch and budget will be an even bigger problem

- I'm playing Rising Storm, Conan Exiles and a few RTS & FPS's with friends, we are all very casual/social gamers

Sorry I have everyone asleep now, but my dilemma is either wait for my order or get a refund and buy something else of course. Difficult to wait as I don't know how long my order will take and eager to get back to gaming, so asking some advise !

Sorry Matt, I was thinking about my previous GPU the GTX960.
Would you suggest I stick to a RX570 or go for GTX1060 perhaps ?

I'd be torn simply because the 1060 is a lot cheaper.
& generally it performs a bit better than a 570 at the minute.

That said there's an extra GB of vram in the 570 (& it does get used in a lot of games now) & its an Asus strix at the end of the day.
Asus would be in my top 3 GPU manufacturers list & your guaranteed quality & a great cooler

Would you perhaps save and buy the 6GB versions perhaps ? As you can see there is not that much difference between the ZOTAC & GALAX but they are both 6GB versions.

I also like ASUS a lot and believe they are great manufacturers, but as I mentioned I don't OC anything so that might lend to the longevity of the cards ?

Would I personally ?? Yes mate , the Galax one is a good buy at that price.

The difference between the 3gb & 6gb models isn't just the vram , the 3gb is also cut down on performance by having 12.5% of the cuda cores disabled.

I like Galax cards , I've had a 970 exoc for nearly 3 years now - its been just absolutely rock solid.

Get a 580 it beats 1060 in more then half games tested at
http://www.techspot.com/review/1393-radeon-rx-580-vs-geforce-gtx-1060/

570 would only be worthy @ 150 dolla, right now it costs almost same as a 580

^ while I'd agree & I'd personally go for a 580 8gb over a 1060 6gb if you check SA prices you'll see even a 4gb 580 costs 10% more than a 1060 6gb.

At those prices the amd cards are not a good buy.

Exaclty, the 8Gb version is not need for a single card, no way, that memory is only used at 4k rez. a single 580 will not do 4k, crossfire should and since its mirrored you would want those 8GB with crossfire but not a single card

I can agree with the pricing issue, our SA prices are all over the place !

As per the intro post our prices vary heavily from US etc.
Should I rather wait for the Sapphire NITRO+ or should I go for the same priced ASUS STRIX RX570 4GB or bit more expensive GALAX GTX1060 6gb ?

20% more for a 1060 6gb is about right over a 4gb 580 let alone a 570

On a price to performance or bang to buck ratio the 1060 6gb is the sensible choice for you in your location at those price differences - its as cut & dry as that.

Like India the amd cards are just way off kilter on the prices for some reason.

In the UK,us, mainland Europe prices lowest to highest (and pretty much performance are)

Rx 570 4gb = 1060 3gb /RX 570 8gb = RX 580 4gb/ RX 580 8gb = 1060 6gb

In SA (EFFECTIVE PRICES Only)

Gtx 1060 3gb / RX 570 4gb /gtx 1060 6gb / RX 570 8gb/ RX 580 4gb /RX 580 8gb

Nonsensical really.

Sensibility dictates though that with a 1060 6gb in the middle pricing range burn at the joint highest performance level in that list , its simply the best bang for buck option.

& that for me at least is what its all about , I'm not into favourites & amd vs nvidia etc etc. - its about value for money.

Locally with our prices you could roll a dice.
I saw online a GTX960 (2gb) trading for $355, if you didnt shop around or research you would fall in a really dark deep pit
