I'm trying to figure out what GPU to buy right now with a really tight budget. So I was wondering if a GTX 1060 3gb is a good choice right now because I can't afford the 6gb variant. I only do gaming in 1080p btw.

Solution
My budget is about $150. Do you think the RTX 3000 series would reduce the prices of budget cards? Because apparently the 2000 series' prices have dropped down a lot. So would this also adjust the prices of budget cards?

Yes, that's what we are telling you. RTX2070 Supers are going for 350 or so right now. I see 2060's going for 250. You might have to add $100 more but the performance is worth it. You can try to lowball the guys asking 250, 200

+1 what is your budget? GPU prices are tanking right now due to the used market. You can get the 6gb or maybe something better if you can raise the budget a tiny bit. One thing to consider is your power supply as well.

You might want to hold off for a bit until the RTX 30 cards start hitting the market in large numbers. There's going to be a lot of used RTX 20 cards being dumped, which will push down prices. Pascal cards will also drop in price so you might be able to get a 1080 or 1080 Ti for what you would pay now for a 1060.
