Hi everyone, thank you for reading, first of all, my set up is:

ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
FX 6300 @3.5GHz
8GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz
R7 250X 1GB DDR5
THERMALTAKE SMART 650W

I'm planning on updating my GPU, I don't want to change my CPU and MOBO for the time being, just the GPU

my options

GTX 950 2GB
GTX 1060 3GB

in my country, the 1060 is 35% more expensive than the 950, do you think the 1060 is worth the extra money?

I play Witcher 3, GTA V, MAFIA III, FALLOUT4, etc

I expect to get 1080p and 50-60fps on HIGH settings, some ULTRA, some NORMAL, you know, finding the balance

so, any suggestions? please lets just compare these two cards for those are the ones available here

I have ruled out RX 460, or RX 470 because I preffer the GTXs mentioned low profile versions (single fan) because it fits my rig better, also, I think both GTX mentioned are better than the RXs, would you agree?

thank you all!

Solution
Ignore the gtx 1050 etc, just get the gtx 1060, it's far superior over the gtx 950/rx 460/rx 470 and even rx 480. If they are all in the same price category there is only one option, the gtx 1060. It's not that hard of a decision really :)
Yes, absolutely.
The 1060 is much faster than the 950 overall

Although the 3GB version of the 1060 is just a crippled version of the 6GB it will still perform much better than the 950. It will be worth the extra money

It will probably still max-out many games without problems, even though it has a limited VRAM available. But keep in mind that as game go more demanding, this limit will start to be even more noticeable

But if you can put a little more, do yourself a favor and get the 6GB version it will be even better and will hold on for much longer

the RX 470 is more expensive than the 1060 3GB where I live, that's way I opted for the 1060, do you think bottleneck would be an issue? I could always play at 900p

the cost of the 1050ti and the 1060 3GB is the same (plus, the 1050ti has not arrived here yet) I'm planning on jumping to Intel 1151, i5 for 2017 christmas

Reviews have shown that the 1050 is not worth at all. As it's worse than the RX470. If you wanna opt for cheaper cards, go with the 470.

Even though that your CPU will bottleneck a better GPU it doesn't mean you should buy worse GPUs. No point in going bad now just to have to upgrade that again whenever you want to upgrade your CPU.

Thats because you can even overclock your current 6300 to decrease even further this bottleneck between CPU and GPU without problems.

I'd recommend no doubts getting the 1060 6GB version instead of anything lower than that. It will certainly keep your graphic needs full until you get your hands on a new CPU.

Solution
Get the GTX 1060, will last you much longer in the long run. If anything though, 3GB is a little iffy by todays standards, quite a few games use 4-6GB VRAM now.
